School Is Cool
Het gaat hard voor School is Cool, heel hard zelf. Zo hard dat ze het zelf moeilijk kunnen vatten. Aldus Johannes Genard, de zanger van de band. In 2010 wonnen ze één van de sterkst bezette Humo’s Rock Rally’s ooit (andere kandidaten dat jaar waren The Sore Losers, Amatorski, Willow en Psycho 44, toch niet van de minste). Zelf omschrijft de band zich als volgt: ‘School is Cool brings you a fresh style of adventurous indie pop following in the footsteps of artists such as Kate Bush, Arcade Fire and Paul Simon through to Pixies and The Dodos’.
Ondertussen hebben ze heel Vlaanderen en Nederland ingepalmd. Maar ook over het kanaal kunnen ze de singles ‘New kids in town en ‘The world is gonna end tonight’ meezingen. Toch redelijk straf voor een band die iets meer dan twee jaar geleden nog niet eens bestond.
Nico "Juice" Blender (Democrazy/Mystic)
'Nico "Juice" started deejaying as a part of the Juice Blenders in the mid nineties and was mainly fascinated by breakbeat experiments on UK-based labels such as Mo' Wax, Ninja Tune and the like. Continuing on this path, the Juice Blenders became one of the leading figures in the early drum 'n' bass scene in their hometown Ghent.
