Adrianne Lenker^(US)

Adrianne Lenker is 25, en schrijft songs sinds haar achtste; haar turbulente jeugd zorgt voor inspiratie. Ze werd geboren in een sekte en had op haar achtste al in veertien huizen gewoond. Lees het volledige relaas in haar woorden bij Pitchfork.

Lenkers eerste soloalbum bracht ze in 2014 uit: Hours Were The Birds. "I had just turned 21 and moved to New York City where I was sleeping in a warehouse, working in a restaurant and photographing pigeons." Kort daarna kwam ze in New York Buck Meek tegen, en vormden ze Big Thief, waarmee ze Masterpiece (2016) en Capacity (2017) uitbracht. Big Thief werd in sneltempo één van de belangrijkste folkrockbands uit New York.

Op 5 oktober komt bij Saddle Creek abysskiss uit, haar tweede soloalbum.
