Daniel Romano(CA)
Daniel Romano heeft best wat faam verworven in het moeras tussen Americana, folk en pop. "Mosey croonin'" noemt hij het zelf. Een pedal steel gitaar, een bariton die doet dromen van Gram Parsons en genoeg originaliteit om de hoop van Nashville te worden genoemd.
Zijn derde album Come Cry With Me kwam uit in 2013 op Normaltown Records, een sublabel van New West voor opkomende artiesten. Het album werd geselecteerd voor de Canadese Polaris Music Prize, kreeg een Juno Award nominatie voor Roots & Traditional Solo Album Of The Year.
Op zijn vierde album I've Only One Time Askin' (New West Records) combineert Daniel Romano schijnbaar moeiteloos Americana, folk, songwriting en pop. Romano producete het album zelf in home studio in Welland, Ontario. Met zijn bariton zingt hij over ongeluk in leven & liefde. Eind mei kwam album vijf uit: Mosey. Romano verteld: "I wanted to push the formula, to make something unlike anything I'd make before. I needed to escape those pockets I'd been put in. Stagnation is the breathe of the devil; it's the enemy. It's why I keep moving, no matter what."
In 2020 dropte de band enkele opmerkelijke platen, waaronder een samenwerking met Tool-drummer Danny Carey op het langspeelalbum Forever Love's Fool.
In hetzelfde jaar verscheen Daniel Romano's Outfit Do (What Could Have Been) Infidels By Bob Dylan & the Plugz, geïnspireerd op een optreden in Letterman in 1984 waar Dylan een nummer uitvoerde met de LA-punkband The Plugz. Met hun eigen draai heeft de Outfit het hele album in een nieuw jasje gestoken en antwoord gegeven op de vraag: wat als Dylan punk zou worden?
In 2021 bracht de Outfit de rock and roll masterclass Cobra Poems uit, die hun kenmerkende geluid met nieuwe branie en grit verrijkte. De vurige single ‘Nocturne Child’ is een uitstekend voorbeeld van de elektriserende energie van de band.
